Can You List Some Symptoms of PTSD?

Can you list some symptoms of PTSD?

The symptoms of PTSD may occur within three months of the stressful event. They don’t occur until years later. The severity and duration of PTSD vary from person to person. Some may recover within half a year, while others suffer much longer.

Here I’ll list the common symptoms of people with PTSD:

  • Repeatedly relive the traumatic memories: These may include nightmares, flashbacks, hallucinations. People with PTSD will feel depressed when certain things like anniversary date of the event, remind them of the trauma.
  • Avoidance: People with PTSD may avoid people, places, thoughts, or situations that remind them of the trauma. They will be isolated from their friends, family members, intimate partners, and lose interest in everything once enjoyed.
  • Changes in physical and emotional reactions: People with PTSD may have sleeping problems and concentration problems, may be easily irritated or frightened, may have a lasting sense of guilt or shame.
  • Negative cognitions and mood: People with PTSD may have memory problems, feel hopeless about the future, and emotionally numb.

If you or people around you have symptoms above, please check with doctors as soon as possible.
