2.Sulfonylurea insulin secretagogues. (weight gain and a risk of hypoglycemia).

3.Thiazolidinediones (effective for longer than sulfonylureas and metformin).

4.Injectable glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists (weight loss, nausea and vomiting).

5.Oral dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors (weight-neutral).

6.Insulin replacement therapy (frequently required in T2DM).
