Are Coffee and Tea Beneficial to the Diabetic?

Plain coffee and tea, with little calories and carbohydrates, is a booster in healthy diet.

Several studies show that drinking coffee may help stop type 2 diabetes while there are other researches indicate coffee’s blood sugar increasing effect in the short term. More researches are needed for further certainty.

Tea, however, is said to be effective lowering blood sugar. There’s a study made on diabetes rats. Rats taking tea for a period of time did lower blood glucose, and also improved diabetic cataracts. The study said that both black tea and green tea will work.
