Are There Alternative Treatments for Gallstones?

Q:
Are there alternative treatments for gallstones?

A:
Some people believe there are alternative treatments for gallstones. However, many medical professionals have pointed out that these methods simply don’t work.

One such alternative treatment is gallbladder cleanse or gallbladder flush. This involves consuming herbs, olive oil, and lemon juice for 2 or more days. You may also be told not to eat anything else during the treatment. Those who believe this works claim that gallbladder cleanse dissolves gallstones, which are later released by the gallbladder in stool. People who have tried the treatment said they found things that look like gallstones in stool. But they prove to be mixtures of juice and oil. In fact, there are no scientific evidences that prove the treatment to be effective.
