One of the common causes of dehydration is diarrhea. Severe diarrhea that comes on suddenly and violently can easily cause a tremendous loss of water and electrolytes in a short period of time.  After all, the direct reason for dehydration is that one’s body doesn’t have enough water and other fluids to carry out its normal functions.
