The answer is yes. The main cause of skin cancer is too much exposure to ultraviolet light. Nose protrudes from the face and receive more sunlight. So it’s more vulnerable to skin cancer.

Types of skin cancers that affect the nose:

  • Basal cell carcinoma. This is the most common kind of skin cancer that affects the nose. If you feel pain in or find lesion on the nose and they don’t go away on their own, you may have developed this type of cancer. The lesion looks like a white waxy scar.
  • Squamous cell carcinoma. It’s the second most common nose cancer. Symptoms include a red firm nodule or a crusted red patch.
  • Melanoma. Signs include lesion with no color, and black or brown lesions. This type of skin cancer kills more people than any other skin cancer.
