The hip bone is formed by three components: ilium, ischium and pubis. When a baby is born, these three parts are separated by hyaline cartilage. They join each other in a Y-shaped hyaline cartilage. These three regions will have fused together and will have ossified by the age of 25. Pelvis are form by sacrum, coccyx and hip bones.
