For Birth Control “I got Kylenna March of 2017. The insertion was not painful to me at all(I have very high pain tolerance). After the fact I had bleeding for 25 days straight then had a break of 2 weeks and started again and lasted 8 days. After that it was 6 days every month for 5 months. Then I had the biggest pregnancy scare, I gained a lot of weight from all these cravings I got, I missed my period and had all pregnancy symptoms. Took every test possible and all NEG! Period came back a month and a half later. Had a regular period the month after and now my last period was Dec 29th, 2018 and now it’s been 74 days without a period. I had headaches, dizziness spells, and was a bit tired. Other than that I think it’s been a rough start but now that my period has stopped I feel like it’s a good birth control. It’s very new in the market so I thought I would let you know my experience since it was hard for me to find any. Hope it helps!”

For Birth Control “I just got my IUD inserted this morning and the reviews I read were pretty similar to my experience; the measuring of the cervix is DEFINITELY the worst part. The insertion itself wasn’t too bad and I only had some occasional mild cramping throughout the day that felt like period cramps (although less painful than my usual menstrual cramps). Overall satisfied and I’m really glad that I got it”

For Birth Control “I’m 21 and I chose Kyleena after being off an on Tri cyclen for two and a half years. I went into the clinic having taken two extra strength advils (800 mg). I was grateful for every mg of that medication during insertion. It was mainly just very uncomfortable but definitely up there on one of the most unpleasant experiences. I pictured being shackled to children throwing a tantrum to get through knowing this would prevent that from being a reality. I had some light nausea, dizziness and cramping right from the get go and I was in a lot of discomfort the next week but only had light spotting which continued until my period a week or two later. My first period was quite a bit heavier than I’m used to then after that period ended it’s been almost two months and no period or spotting so far since… I do notice my breasts have shrunk about a cup size and I’ve been a little moodier and anxious than usual but it is also the middle of midterms…”

“Their commercial is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Clearly, this company thinks women are a bunch of morons. First, you go to all the trouble to have this inserted. Then, as you’re about to have sex, you have a moment of panic because you’ve “forgotten” your birth control? Oh, no…wait…now I remember…surgical procedure…pain. just based on their portrayal of women, I think I’ll pass.”

For Birth Control “I recently had my first IUD (skyla) removed because it was expiring and had it replaced with Kyleena. Taking out the original felt like a big pinch but the discomfort only lasted for a second. With this insertion, my pain was significantly reduced; my doctor explained she has been experimenting with different pain management methods to make the IUD process more manageable. She sprayed my cervix with a benzocaine spray before starting and used some lidocaine once my cervix was dilated. This made my experience significantly less painful than my insertion of the skyla. So far, I’m having very light cramping and my spotting has started to taper off already; with my original I spotted for a full six weeks.”

For Birth Control “I had my daughter almost 5 months ago, don’t want any more so decided to get Kyleena. I took 2 aleeve an hour before my appt. The measuring of my cervix and the clamp on my cervix was the only two times I felt a horrible cramp, plus the Dr warned before it would occur. Not a bad experience at all! It was inserted on Day 2 of my menstrual cycle (last 7 days normally). Since the birth of my daughter, I no longer get horrible cramps so I took Aleeve to be safe. The appt was short and I felt fine after the appt and still feel fine. Waiting to see what the rest of the months bring…..”
