Kyleena (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: “I got Kylenna March of 2017. The insertion was not painful to me at all(I have very high pain tolerance). After the fact I had bleeding for 25 days straight then had a break of 2 weeks and started again and lasted 8 days. After that it was 6 days every month for 5 months. Then I had the biggest pregnancy scare, I gained a lot of weight from all these cravings I got, I missed my period and had all pregnancy symptoms. Took every test possible and all NEG! Period came back a month and a half later. Had a regular period the month after and now my last period was Dec 29th, 2018 and now it’s been 74 days without a period. I had headaches, dizziness spells, and was a bit tired. Other than that I think it’s been a rough start but now that my period has stopped I feel like it’s a good birth control. It’s very new in the market so I thought I would let you know my experience since it was hard for me to find any. Hope it helps!”

Kyleena (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: “I just got my IUD inserted this morning and the reviews I read were pretty similar to my experience; the measuring of the cervix is DEFINITELY the worst part. The insertion itself wasn’t too bad and I only had some occasional mild cramping throughout the day that felt like period cramps (although less painful than my usual menstrual cramps). Overall satisfied and I’m really glad that I got it”

Kyleena (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: “I’m 21 and I chose Kyleena after being off an on Tri cyclen for two and a half years. I went into the clinic having taken two extra strength advils (800 mg). I was grateful for every mg of that medication during insertion. It was mainly just very uncomfortable but definitely up there on one of the most unpleasant experiences. I pictured being shackled to children throwing a tantrum to get through knowing this would prevent that from being a reality. I had some light nausea, dizziness and cramping right from the get go and I was in a lot of discomfort the next week but only had light spotting which continued until my period a week or two later. My first period was quite a bit heavier than I’m used to then after that period ended it’s been almost two months and no period or spotting so far since… I do notice my breasts have shrunk about a cup size and I’ve been a little moodier and anxious than usual but it is also the middle of midterms…”

Cassjsk (taken for 1 to 6 months) March 12, 2018

Kyleena (levonorgestrel) for : “Their commercial is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Clearly, this company thinks women are a bunch of morons. First, you go to all the trouble to have this inserted. Then, as you’re about to have sex, you have a moment of panic because you’ve “forgotten” your birth control? Oh, no…wait…now I remember…surgical procedure…pain. just based on their portrayal of women, I think I’ll pass.”

Plan B (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception: “I’m 18 and me and my boyfriend had sex on January 27th which was 5 days after my period ended. The next morning about 5 hours later I took the pill. About a week after I took the pill I had light bleeding. After that I began having cramps that lasted a week but no period came. I was very bloated in the weeks following and I became very nervous and scared reading things online until my real period finally came on February 28th about a week and a half late. Ladies, the pill DOES work!!! Try not to worry and get yourself worked up because over those longggg weeks of waiting I became very paranoid and my mind was making me believe that I was pregnant but just try to be patient because you are most likely not. Ps. I did experience mood swings towards the end of the time it took the medicine to exit my system. Best of luck.”

Emma (taken for less than 1 month) March 11, 2018

Plan B (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception: “My husband and I had sex and condom broke. We realized that after the fact. I was on my 20th day of my cycle. We went to the store and got Plan B within 45 min. I developed lower abdominal cramps for several days. I got my period one day late. Don’t stress it does work”
