For Inflammatory Conditions: “After many tests, not knowing what is causing some loss of vision I was taking 80 mg for 6 days and now 60 mg. There has been no change in vision. However, now I have severe pain in my left arm pit as well as swelling on the side of my left breast.I can only hope this is a side effect of the drug and not cancer.I also experienced palpitations all day yesterday. I see my doctor this a.m. and hope he has an answer.Be real sure before you start this drug, I think it is doing more harm than good.”

For Allergic Reactions: “I had an allergic reaction when a vacuum cleaner that was not working right and it kicked back everything in the air. 5 hours later my throat was hurting it was itching and I was coughing. I was taking Benadryl the way the box said, this did not help.. however, my doctor prescribed prednisone 10 mg with directions of tapering off and it did help me immensely, with no side effects. I would recommend anybody with bad allergies see if you can get on Prednisone it does help.”

For Ulcerative Colitis: “While on Prednisone I feel like my old self actually better. I started taking prednisone about 2 months of being diagnosed with UC (I also have IBS as well). It started with 40mg a day and would be reduced 10mg every two weeks. Well just after the first week I could tell a difference and by the second week I was symptom free of UC. I did start to get a bit more acne but solved that with an extra face and body wash in the shower for acne. Once I was symptom free of UC I became more confident and the IBS symptoms also went away. All of that was about a year ago and I am back on it again because my symptoms of UC are coming back and with my line of work I can’t wait for Dr to be available to see me etc. etc. So for me this medication is a life saver while I know it is not a long term solution I definitely have a confidence that if I start to feel a flare or symptoms again I have it.”

For Pharyngitis: “I was prescribed this for a persistent sore throat and cough. It has worked very well although I have had a rapid heartbeat since starting it. I’m hoping after my dose tappers off my side effect will diminish. Overall good drug.”

Deltasone (prednisone) for Inflammatory Conditions: “I had a spinal injury and went in with literal screaming pain, I couldn’t even pass out. They have me a steroid shot and this med to take at home, which I did. (The ER made me go home even though I was still crying, but that’s a different issue) what I mean to say is I’ve had other brands and this one, I can’t even tell if they’re working. My mom has the same brand for her fibromyalgia and it didn’t work.”

For Fibromyalgia: “I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 15 years ago. Since that time, I have been in constant pain. I have pain in knees, hips, wrists, legs, low back, neck, jaw, hands and fingers. I also suffer from chronic sinusitis, which can usually be controlled by a nasal steroid, antibiotic nasal rinse, allergy medication. During this time, I have been prescribed prednisone to help with the sinus infection. These are the only two times I have had no pain in 15 years. I will be speaking to my Dr about prescribing me a low dose of prednisone. I am off the prednisone and back to pain and no energy again.”
