Fractionated Plasma Free Metanephrines Tests

Fractionated plasma free metanephrines test is usually used to diagnose pheocheomocytoma (a rare adrenal tumor) and paraganglioma (a rare extra-adrenal tumor), which would produce excess hormones broken down to metanephrines.

If you have symptoms presented as severe headaches, sudden bursts of high blood pressure, rapid heart rate, tremors, sweating and so on, you may need to take this test.

Negative test result indicates there exists no catecholamine-secreting tumor.

Positive test result indicates there may exist catecholamine-secreting tumor.
