Chronic strain of lumbar muscle: This disorder is due to long-time repeated lumbar strain, delayed or maltreated acute injury of lumbar muscle,repeated injury of the lumbar or chronic muscular fibrositis of the lumbus caused by cold anti dampness.

Clinical manifestations: for the patient with a history of repeated-occurring lumbago, he would suffer relapse back pain. The pain would become severe due to strain, long-time sitting or standing. When it onset suddenly, all symptoms could be worsened, and some newly symptoms like: muscular spasm, lateral curvature, and pain referring to the lower limbs.

Therapeutic Method: relaxing muscles and tendons, activating collaterals, warming up channels, and promoting blood circulation.

Manipulation: you need ask your family member or friend to help you. (they would be the “operator” below).
You should take the prone position, and the operator should stand or sit at your side. Massaging over the lumbar muscles of the both sides of the patient’s body for about 5 minutes, and, then, carry out massage with the thumb on the sacrospinal muscles of the two sides from the above to the below and do this 5-10 times. Then massage the points—Shenshu (BL 23), Mingmen (DU 4), Dachangshu (BL 25) Zhibian (BL 54) and Weizhong (BL 40).

Treatment is given once daily; 7 times of treatment make 1 course.
