Home Massage for Headache

Headache: As a subjective symptom, the headache is common in many acute or chronic disease. But the massage cannot apply to following symptoms: brain abscess; acute cerebrovascular disease; brain contusion; traumatic intracranial hematoma, etc. And other symptoms can be treated by massage, like: migraine, muscular contraction, common cold and hypertension.

Clinical Manifestations: headache; stiff neck; fever; nasal obstruction; running nose; distending pain of head; reddened eyes; vertigo; tinnitus; vexation; irritability; insomnia; dreamfulness; flushed face; bitter taste in the mouth.

Therapeutic Method: relieving pain and removing obstruction in the channels; promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis and dredging the channels.

Manipulation: you need ask your family member or friend to help you. (they would be the “operator” below).
You should sit down, and the operator should stand behind you. The operator should massage following points for 5 minutes: Fengchi (GB 21), Fengfu (GV 16) and Tianzhu (BL 10); then the operator should massage your forehead for 5 minutes, and the points are: Yintang (EX-HN3); Yuyao (EX-HN4); and Taiyang (EX-HN5).

Treatment is given once daily; 6 times of treatment make 1 course of treatment.
