Commonly, first few signs of nacrolepsy occur at the age of 10-25. In order to identify yourself accurately, you may expect you have some of the following symptoms:

  • Excessive daytime sleepiness.
  • Sudden loss of muscle tone.
  • Sleep paralysis.
  • Hallucinations.

People with narcolepsy may show other signs of sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, a condition in which breathing starts and stops throughout the night, restless legs syndrome and even insomnia. Futhermore, they may also act out their dreams outwardly by screaming and shouting during sleep.
