How Doctors Watch Kidney Cysts?

Q:

My doctor found a small cyst in my kidney, but he said it’s ok and he will watch it. How do doctors watch kidney cysts? What does he mean?

A:

If your cyst does not cause symptoms or complications, doctors may simply watch it to make sure it doesn’t cause any problem. Doctors will recommend you to take an imaging test periodically, such as ultrasound, to see whether the kidney cyst has enlarged.
