What is the melanoma? How many types of it?
A:
In general, melanoma is the least common form of skin cancer but the most lethal. And there are four main types:
1. Superficial spreading melanoma.
This is the most common type, which happens on the arms, legs, chest and back.
2. Nodular melanoma.
This type comes second with a rather quicker growing speed, turning into red instead of black. It generally occurs in the chest, back, head or neck.
3. Lentigo maligna melanoma.
This type is usually found in older people, especially in the areas of skin which have suffered from many years sun exposure. Don’t get it wrong with the freckle. And this is often found on the face and neck.
4. Acral lentiginous melanoma.
This type comes rarest, usually found on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, or under fingernails or toenails.
