How to care for preeclampsia?

In order to diagnose preeclampsia accurately and not to mistake normal pregnancy signs for preeclampsia, you have to go through a series of tests, including blood test, urine analysis, and fetal ultrasound.

After correctly being diagnosed as preeclampsia, the only cure your have is to deliver your baby. Because if not, you are at increased risk of seizures, placental abruption, stroke and severe bleeding until your blood pressure decreases. However, if preeclampsia happens too early in your pregnancy, delivery may not be the best option for you. Other possible treatments for preeclampsia are:

  • Medications to lower blood pressure.
  • Corticosteroids.
  • Anticonvulsant medications.
  • Bed Rest
