How to identify atelectasis?

Sometimes atelectasis may not have symptoms at all. You need to be careful and go to physcial check regularly in order to identify atelectasis as early as possible. If you have signs of atelectasis, you may experience some of the following:

 

  • cough, but not prominent
  • chest pain
  • breathing difficulty
  • low oxygen saturation
  • pleural effusion (transudate type)
  • cyanosis
  • increased heart rate
