How to Identify Poison Ivy Rash?

You can simply look at the rash on your skin to identify the poison ivy rash. No further testing is needed. The signs and symptpms of the rash include:

  • Redness
  • Itching
  • Swelling
  • Blisters
  • Difficulty breathing, if you’ve inhaled the smoke from burning poison ivy.

The rash often looks like a staight line and may spread out if you touch some contaminated objects or pet fur. You can also transfer the plant oil which causes the rash to other parts of your body with your fingers.

The reaction usually develops 12 to 48 hours after exposure and lasts two to three weeks. Here are some pictures to help you identify the rash.
