How to Interpret EKG Results?

EKG Results Interpretation

EKG (electrocardiogram) is a test which records the electrical activity of your heart. Through it, you can check the overall health of your heart.

EKG consists of waveform components that can indicate electrical events during one heart beat. These waveforms are labeled P, Q, R, S, T and U.

P indicates the atria are contracting, pumping blood into the ventricles.

QRS complex shows ventricular depolarization and contraction.

PR interval indicates the transit time for the electrical signal to travel from the sinus node to the ventricles. The normal duration of PR interval is between 0.12 to 0.20 seconds.

T is a modest upwards waveform which shows ventricular repolarization.
