How to Lower Cholesterol Quickly?

High cholesterol can be a major problem nowadays. When your cholesterol is high, it means there is going to be more and more fatty deposits in your blood vessels, making you more likely to get the heart attack and stroke.

How to lower it quickly?  A healthy diet, regular exercise and sometimes medication can be the golden standard.

A Healthy Diet.
If you want to lower your cholesterol quickly by a healthy eating, well, keep the following tips in mind.
1. Avoid Trans Fats
Trans Fats are rich in the fried foods, baked goods (cakes, pie crusts, frozen pizza, and cookies), and stick margarines. Stay away from them when you making your daily meal.  Also, don’t be cheated as its another name of “partially hydrogenated oil”, and read your food label mindfully.
2. Get More Fiber
Food high in soluble fiber, such as foods like oatmeal, apples, prunes, and beans, will keep your body from absorbing cholesterol.  5 to 10 more grams daily will bring a drop in their LDL. But never increase it too much at one time.
3. Fish and Olive Oil
Olive oil sometimes can work as a low dose of medication, which not only reduce  LDL cholesterol, but also benefit your heart.  Eating fish for 2-4 times a week is highly recommended.
4. Embrace the Spice
Adding seasoning like garlic, curcumin, ginger, black pepper, coriander, cinnamonto and so on into your food is really good. It reduces your appetite, drop excess pounds, as well as lower cholesterol.
5. Take Nuts as Snacks
Nuts are almost the best alternative for your snacks, of course, not too much. They are not only rich in the fiber that keeps the body from absorbing cholesterol, but also make you full and help you to lose weight.

Regular Exercise
For any disease, regular exercise is a great helper.  In general, 30 minutes at least per day is recommended, from moderate to vigorous, such as walking, jogging, biking, or gardening.  Your LDL will get cut quickly if you combine your exercise with a reasonable and safe diet goal. Here, 1 to 2 pounds a week will be healthy and suggested.

Medication and Others

1. Statins
This is the most common medication for lowering cholesterol, which also lowers triglycerides and the chance of heart attack. Statins include: Atorvastatin (Lipitor), Fluvastatin (Lescol), Pitavastatin (Livalo).

2. Laughter
Smile is exactly a natural medicine. Being happy is able to increases HDL.

3. Being Relax
Stress can take your cholesterol to the ceiling. So don’t make yourself under a lot of stress. Just jump into a good book, meet a friend for coffee, or roll down your yoga mat.

Of course, if your cholesterol level is much higher, you’d better take some blood tests and ask for the doctor’s advice.
