Lymphedema VS Edema

Lymphedema VS Edema

Lymphedema is a subtype of edema, but there are some differences between them:

Lymphedema is difficult to diagnose because the symptoms aren’t instantly present. However, edema can be seen through the naked eye, especially the organ-specific edema.

Lymphedema is the accumulation of fluids particularly in the legs and calf area, however, edema can occur at different parts of the body, and can be divided into many subtypes according to the organs involved.

Treatments for edema should depend on the classifications or subtypes, but treatment for lymphedema is usually using compression stockings.
