My Fasting Blood Sugar Is 6.6. Am I At High Risk of Diabetes?

Q:
My fasting blood sugar has risen to 6.6. I was asked to control my diet in case of the diabetes. Is it a serous value?  I only 30, can I get the diabetes?

A:

Take it easy. Fasting 6.6 is in abnormal glucose tolerance stage, not diabetes.

Diet and exercise can effectively reduce your blood sugar, but the time varies individually. Diligent blood sugar measuring is always necessary and beneficial.
A consistent, healthy diet and exercise is vital for avoiding the diabetes after the value falling back to normal.
