What is normal blood pressure?

Blood pressure refers to the pressure of circulating blood on the walls of your blood vessels. Usually, blood pressure is expressed in terms of the systolic pressure over diastolic pressure. The systolic pressure is the maximum during one heart beat while the diastolic pressure is the minimum between two heart beats. Normal blood pressure means your blood pressure is in a good condition. If your blood pressure is too high, you may get hypertension while if your blood pressure is too low, you may get hypotension.

What is the range of normal blood pressure?

The normal blood pressure range in adults is less than 120 mm Hg for the systolic pressure and less than 80 mm Hg for the diastolic pressure.

The normal blood pressure range in children depends on their age, weight, height and sex.
