Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma are the two most common types of lymphoma cancers. The two types are caused by malignancies of lymphocytes, a type of white blood cells that fight against infections and other disasters.

The main difference between these two diseases lies in the lymphocyte each involves. The cause of Hodgkin’s lymphoma is abnormal Reed-Sternberg cells. These cells malignant mature B cells and are especially large. On the contrast, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma involves B cells or T cells.

Besides, patients with Hodgkin lymphoma tend to be younger than those with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
