What are the Differences between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Causes?

Q:

I want to know what are the differences between type 1 and type 2 diabetes causes.

A:

Diabetes is also called diabetes mellitus (DM). Generally, it occurs when your body produce none or less insulin which works by helping keep normal sugar levels of your body, or when your body becomes less sensitive to the insulin.

Type 1 Diabetes Causes:

Type 1 diabetes happens when the beta cells (cells in your pancreas) are destroyed by your immune system. The beta cells produce, store and release the hormone insulin.

Type 2 Diabetes Causes:

  1. Type 2 diabetes can be hereditary. The certain genetic mutation causing the risk of type 2 hasn’t been found out.
  2. It could also be the result of unhealthy lifestyle, including irregular meals, lack of exercise and overweight.
