What are the early signs of breast cancer?

A:

A breast lump is a common sign of breast cancer. Although the majority of the breast lumps are less severe, painless lumps can still be a symptom of breast cancer and are often ignored. Other early signs of breast cancer are as follow:

  • The shape of the nipple changes.
  • The pain felt in the first period doesn’t disappear when the next period ends.
  • A new lump doesn’t disappear when the next period ends.
  • The nipple discharges clear, red, brown or yellow fluid.
  • There is redness, swelling, skin irritation, itchiness or rash which are unexplained on the breast.
  • There is swelling or lumps around the collarbone or under the arm.
