In general, children having a convulsion shake all over and lose consciousness. Sometimes, they may get very stiff or twitch in just one area of the body.

Other signs and symptoms of convulsions may include:

  • Eye-rolling
  • Unresponsiveness
  • Moaning
  • Losing bowel or bladder control
  • Bleeding tongue or mouth from biting down
