What Are the Signs of Gallstones?

Q:
What are the signs of gallstones?

A:
If there is no sign, you don’t need treatment even if you have gallstones. Signs of gallstones only occur when the problem is bad. Here are some signs:

  • Abdominal pain. This is the most common sign. You feel the pain after eating and the pain may last for hours.
  • Jaundice. This manifests as a yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes. Other symptoms are dark urine and pale-colored stools.
  • Nausea. This sign is not so common. But if you find that it occurs after abdominal pain, you should be careful. It’s very likely that you have gallstones.
