What Is Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma?

What is advanced renal cell carcinoma?

Altogether, there are three types of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC), also known as advanced renal cell cancer, including:

  • Cancer cells have spread outside the kidney to other parts of the body, such as lungs, bones and liver, when the cancer is diagnosed.
  • In nephrectomy which is in the postoperative examination process, primary RRC is confirmed to have transferred to other parts of the body.
  • Apart from transferring to other parts of the body, advanced RRC can also stay in the kidney. However, as the local tumor grows larger, it can affect adrenal or larger blood vessels. Some cancer cells can even transfer to the heart through the vessels.
