The CREST syndrome is one form of the scleroderma complications. Scleroderma may lead to some serious situations such as thickened skin, stiffness, and poor blood flow to the fingers or toes. One form of the situation is CREST syndrome which is also known as the limited cutaneous form of systemic sclerosis.

The word CREST refers to the five main features: calcinosis, raynaud’s phenomenon, esophageal dysmotility, sclerodactyly, and telangiectasia.
