Eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EGE) is an uncommon digestive disease. Eosinophils are a normal cellular component of the blood and also of certain tissues of the gastrointestinal tract and other areas. And EGE is characterized by eosinophilic infiltration of the bowel wall, lack of extra intestinal disease and exclusion of other causes of peripheral eosinophilia.
