What is grief?

Grief refers to one’s mental suffering or distress in response to a threatened or real loss.
The loss can be the loss of a body part or function, death of another person, or loss of one’s possessions, job, status, or ideals.

The grief is sometimes overwhelming. People who suffer it may feel numb and even lose the ability of carrying on with regular duties in daily life.

If you are not sure whether someone is undergoing a normal process of grief, consult health care professionals.
