Polycystic kidney is a kind of inherited disorder. It means that cluster of cysts grows in kidneys, causing kidneys to enlarge and lose function. Cysts are not cancerous. However, too many cysts, especially large cysts, can damage kidneys.

It can also cause cysts to grow in liver and elsewhere in body. It may cause complications like high blood pressure and kidney failure.
