What is stasis dermatitis?

Stasis dermatitis appears when there is a problem with circulation in the veins, mostly in the lower legs. Veins cause pressure to build up, and this pressure makes fluid leak out of the veins and into the skin.

Stasis dermatitis may have following symptoms:

  • Redness.
  • Discolored skin.
  • Scaling.
  • Dryness.
  • Itch.
  • Varicose veins.
  • Leg Ache.

In serious cases of stasis dermatitis, there can be:

  • Oozing.
  • Open areas.
  • Infection.
  • Shiny skin.
  • Scars.
  • Cellulitis.
