Q:

What is the survival rate of advanced renal cell carcinoma? Can the disease be cured?

A:

The survival rate of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) remains almost the same in the last 5 years. According to a report in 2012, the 2-year survival rate for patients with advanced RCC is only 10%-15%. In 2017, in another report, the 5-year survival rate for patients with advanced RCC is 12.1%. However, if the RCC is diagnosed in its early stages, the survival rate can increase a lot.
