Women Recover Worse Than Men After A Stroke

Researchers say women recover with a tougher time than men do after a stroke, but the reasons are not completely known. According to the study, women have more limitation in daily life after a stroke, and women have higher chance to develop depression after a stroke.

There’re a few possible causes.

Generally, women in stroke are older and in poor health condition, compared to men.

Strokes in older women are typically more severe.

Women who have a stroke usually live alone and have no one around to help immediately.

Older women are worse off financially than older men.

The most important is to prevent a stroke. As always healthy diet and physical exercises are recommended.
